About Me

My name is Syed Shahab Ali and I am president for Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine for 2025 - 2026.

I live in Liverpool with My brother and his children. My mother Language is Pashto, but I can speak English very well. I belong to Pukhtoonkhwa, Pakistan and I am Afghan by ethnicity. I am a Maxillofacial surgeon by profession.

Reason for running the election was to represent students at Edge Hill University so that their voices be heard. Thanks to all students who put the confidence in me and elected me as President.

As your Faculty President for Health and Social Care, my mission is to champion a university experience that is truly inclusive, equal, and accessible for every student. 

I know firsthand that navigating academic challenges can be difficult, and I believe clear communication between students and staff is the cornerstone of support. My priority is to work tirelessly to improve these channels, ensuring your voice is not only heard but acted upon.

I am here to be your advocate, your representative, and your support system. Let's work together to enhance both your academic journey and personal growth.

I aim to tackle barriers to learning that may include mental health, physical and/or hidden disabilities by exploring and looking a different ideas/opportunity to SUPPORT, DEVELOP, and ENHANCE students learning and development at university.
