While a considerable amount of time and planning goes into organising an election, the process of running in one couldn’t be easier.

 

Simply follow our quick steps below to ensure you are best prepared:

 

• Step One: Download and read our Elections guide for candidates

 

• Step Two: Submit your self-nomination between Monday 26th January and Thursday 5th March, including a headshot. Quick Note: Make sure you are signed in with your EHU student account details when submitting your nomination. This is how we confirm you are a current student at Edge Hill University.

 

• Step Three: A Students’ Union staff member will be in touch to invite you to a 'Fit and Proper' interview. Fit and Proper interviews ask candidates if they have read and have a full understanding of our SU election by- laws which can be downloaded here and agree to abide by the Nolan Principles, which offer ethical guidelines for those who run in public facing roles. 

 

• Step Four: On completion of your Fit and Proper interview, you will be invited to a Candidate Briefing and Media Day. These sessions offer critical support on how and where to campaign (including your use of social media) and how to raise any issues or concerns.
